Fertility Promoting Yogurt Recipe
This is a recipe shared with me by my Ayurvedic doctor, Dra. Alma Berra in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I recently started seeing her in order to follow an as-much-as-possible, natural path towards conceiving.
During our first session, she said “eat all that which sprouts new life.”
In other-words, lots of seeds and sprouts. This makes sense if you believe and understand energy.
In Ayurveda, there is the concept of “ojas.” Ojas is an energy source within us, our body’s natural honey and the essence we produce when we eat high quality foods. The more ojas we have, the more fertile we are.
I’ve been enjoying this recipe, practically every morning …..it’s chock full of healthy omegas and high in fiber and just delicious.
I could write an entire post about the benefits of maca, the “peruvian ginseng”, one of the recipes ingredients. Maca is well-known for its fertility, virility and energy promoting effects. It’s a sweet-tasting root that comes from Peru.
FERTILITY SUPPORTING YOGURT RECIPE
1 cup yogurt (cow’s milk or nut milk)
1/2 tsp pumpkin seeds
1/2 tsp flax seeds
1/2 tsp pumpkin seeds
a small fistful of raisins
1/2 tsp maca powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
honey, to taste!
Add all ingredients to yogurt. Enjoy!
